The Role of Mentors in Your Life
I have been blessed with countless mentors in my life, both women and men, but I will focus on a few of the women who shaped my life. My mother is a nurse practitioner. Throughout my life, I have witnessed her commitment to changing lives for the better through her work. My 91-year old grandma still works to this day, and living by her example pushes me forward to make every day count. Growing up, my Sunday school teacher taught God’s word by living it.  In high school, I had two teachers that encouraged me to be myself. KPMG had a formal mentoring program and my mentor was Russian. She challenged me to make myself better. It was tough at times, but looking back, I value and appreciate that experience so much. If it weren’t for these outstanding women acting as personal and professional role-models in my life, I would not be the person I am today.
